I started my building career in the late eighties with an interest in art & environmental design and built my first turf-roofed wooden building in 1990, which remains dry to this day.
After a long hiatus in the natural food, vitamin and advertising industries, I returned to construction in 2011 and began focussing mainly on residential properties and wooden stand-alone structures; and more recently expanding into retrofitting insulation into solid-walled victorian properties using breathable wood-fibre & lime plaster systems.
Being based in Castlefields in Shrewsbury and with the majority of my work here, I'm very familiar with the buildings' solid-wall construction, design and quirks and over the last 14+ years I've built/worked-on a large variety of extensions, roofs, lofts, bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, cellars and gardens in the area.
